Privacy policy
Last updated: 18 September 2026.
Lernify is an iOS app for learning English. This page explains what the app collects, why, and what you can do about it.
What we collect
- Your email address and account ID. To create your account and sign you in. Accounts are held in Supabase Auth.
- The photos you take. A photo is sent from our server to an AI service only to recognise the object in it. It is not stored on our servers; it stays in the app on your phone.
- Your words, sentences, XP and streak. These are kept on your phone.
- A usage counter. How many photo and dialogue requests you make each day, kept with your account ID to prevent abuse.
What we don't collect
- No advertising identifiers and no tracking.
- We don't sell or share your data for advertising.
- We don't read your location, contacts or other files on your device.
Services we use
- Supabase — accounts, sign-in and server functions (EU, Ireland region).
- OpenRouter, and through it Google Gemini — recognising objects in photos and writing practice dialogues.
- Resend — sending confirmation codes by email.
Only what those services need to do the job is sent to them.
How long we keep it
Account data is kept while the account exists. Photos are not stored on the server. Usage-counter rows are deleted with the account.
Deleting your data
In the app, Profile → Settings → Delete account removes your account and the data stored for it. Words and photos on your phone go when you delete the app. If you need help, write to support@lernify.app.
Children
The app isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect data from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be published on this page and the date above updated.
